LAZY SATURDAY Cup of coffee dark with cream Eggs with buttered toast Staring up at ceiling beams Waking slow from lasting dreams On a Lazy Saturday Let's just stay in bed Lazy Saturday Take what we can get We have to make each moment last When the weekend speeds by so fast Wish every day could be a Lazy Saturday Twin bed never had this hold on my morning limbs Your warmth is a fishing pole Reel me in to your life boat Lazy Saturday Let's just stay in bed Lazy Saturday Take what we can get We have to make each moment last When the weekend speeds by so fast Wish every day could be a Lazy Saturday You know we might not always have this time alone If you go bring more coffee I'll turn off my phone Lazy Saturday Let's just stay in bed Lazy Saturday Take what we can get We have to make each moment last When the weekend speeds by so fast Wish every day could be a Lazy Saturday Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy Lazy Saturday

Winter Time 02:33
WINTER TIME Frost is creeping Up my window Trying to keep it from my heart You are sleeping But I can't go Frozen here before I start It's winter time winter time Days of summer Words unspoken Echo through my lonely head Barefoot pavement Sunburn peeling Layers of an angry red but It's winter time winter time I'm looking for the light to get me through this night put a candle in the window for me It's winter time winter time winter time ~ Heather Miller-Rodriguez 12/9/09

She's a pretty girl, with her long blonde hair Her daddy keeps asking her when she's getting married He's getting on in years, and he wants someone to take care of her But she can't seem to tell him in a way he'll understand, that She doesn't mind living alone In her big farm house with her unlisted phone There's a lawn to mow, chickens to feed, loyal dogs to keep her company And at night boy, can't she see the stars She's a pretty girl, with her wide blue eyes Been to Africa and Mexico, Hong Kong, Italy, France She can hold her own in the office with the guys But she can't seem to tell them in a way they'll understand, that She doesn't mind living alone In her big farm house with her unlisted phone There's a lawn to mow, chickens to feed, loyal dogs to keep her company And at night boy, can't she see the stars She's a pretty girl, with her two skilled hands That can sculpt and draw and bake a pie, or a gourmet cake She gets the strength she needs from the Lord and the land If you saw her in her garden, you might start to understand Why she doesn't mind living alone In her big farm house with her unlisted phone There's a lawn to mow, chickens to feed, loyal dogs to keep her company Quilts on the bed, plates on the wall, friends in the kitchen, yeah she's got it all Grandma's old dolls, Grandpa's John Deere, why would she ever move away from here? Beautiful views from her front porch swing, she's got pretty much everything And at night boy, can't she see the stars And at night boy, can't she see the stars Oh at night boy, she can see those stars copyright 2007 Heather Miller-Rodriguez

The day you left the sunset was incredible Golden horizon underneath a turquoise sky And those little pink clouds Were floating in heaven and it was so beautiful I didn't even want to cry So I walked on a little bit further and I saw a bright star Or maybe a satellite And I thought I don't ever have to worry about losing you because No matter where you are You'll always be shining like that star The night you left We all went out dancing Trying to prove to ourselves that life would still go on And if we had more fun than we thought we would It was in those moments we forgot you were gone And three times on that cold December evening When we walked out We saw shooting stars I don't know if it's an omen But three's a lucky number And no matter where you are We can both dance under the stars Early next morning the moon was a fat and dusty pearl Swimming through the sunrise clouds sinking into dreams and I thought If the whole sky's celebrating all day and all night maybe your going isn't as bad as it seems And the real reason that you had to go away may become clear to me a little bit later I don't know when we will meet again and I know it's not the same But no matter where you are I'll always love you from afar No matter where you are I'll always love you my bright star I'll always love you my bright star

I am just a simple whale I sing my way across the ocean But when Jonah’s ship set sail An age old plan was put in motion I was appointed on the day that I was born I won’t spite the hand that feeds me He doesn’t ask too often and He doesn’t ask too much I will do as my Lord needs me When they threw Jonah to the waves I was waiting there to catch him That bellyacher banged my belly for three days It was worse than indigestion I was appointed on the day that I was born I won’t spite the hand that feeds me He doesn’t ask too often and He doesn’t ask too much I will do as my Lord needs me Then the man inside made peace The struggle in my gut was over I heaved him out upon the beach Turned to face the deep and dove there I was appointed on the day that I was born I won’t spite the hand that feeds me He doesn’t ask too often and He doesn’t ask too much I will do as my Lord needs me I was appointed on the day that I was born I won’t spite the hand that feeds me He doesn’t ask too often and He doesn’t ask too much I will do as my Lord needs me I am just a simple whale I sing my way across the ocean

Connecting lightness and humor to loneliness and hurt. Taking her place in the lineage of acoustic folk songstresses, Heather is the real deal. She will brighten your day and soften your heart. ... more
